Siemens Healthineers Medical and Scientific Learning Exchange ProgramRequest for Applications

Siemens Healthineers is hosting the Medical and Scientific Learning Exchange Program, held in the Fall of each year. The program is designed to foster education for future clinical laboratory leaders and help close the knowledge gap in the understanding of laboratory diagnostics device development and post-market support across in vitro diagnostics (IVD).

The program is intended for board-certified and/or board-eligible clinical chemistry post-doctoral fellows and pathology resident trainees. Clinical laboratory medical directors currently in practice and located in the United States or Canada for up to ten years from training completion are also eligible*.

At the end of the on-site three-day educational program, attendees will:

    • Complete functional rotations that introduce the IVD product lifecycle.
    • Understand the roles of various functional groups in laboratory diagnostics, and learn about research and development, large-scale device diagnostics manufacturing, quality control processes, and post-market support in this highly regulated environment.
    • Understand quality and regulatory initiatives that support the IVD user environment.
    • Visit of laboratory and manufacturing facilities.

During the event, each participant will have an opportunity to lead a brief interactive discussion with representatives from the Medical Affairs group at Siemens Healthineers, and participate in other discussions on current and future industry trends.

Siemens Healthineers will provide reasonable reimbursement for those who attend, covering reasonable travel expenses, lodging and accommodations, and food and beverage costs to visit the Siemens Healthineers facility in Newark, Delaware, USA.

The application window is June 1 through August 15.
